The
Importance of Keeping Your Website Content Fresh
So, you are finally done building your website, and you have done a mighty fine job. You are proud of your
accomplishments. One of the keys to website success is to make sure your website always has fresh useful content.
Never leave your visitors without new content. Make sure you update your website every month or two. You will want
to update the content, check to make sure the links you have on the website are still working, there are no broken
links. Nothing is more frustrating than to go to a website that you are anticipating to be something of value or
interest to find the link that you clicked is not working or has an error message. Talk about a visitor losing
interest fast.
The more you give fresh updated content to your website the more potential you will have to get visitors to
re-visit your website. The search engines will love your website as well. If you do not update frequently enough it
will lower the search engine rank of your site. If you keep up with your website updates, it will pay off in
increased sales and search engine rankings.
The best time to update your website is when you have new products to sell, your prices have changed, you are
adding new photos, you have new achievements that you have been acknowledged for, have new information to share,
you have other visitors who have left feedback or testimonials, you have written a new article, the list goes on
and on. Just remember to add anything new that might be of interest even if you think it might not be.
A great idea to help assist you in updating your site is to print your website content out on paper and keep it
next to you as a reference or guide so that you can see what needs to be changed or updated. You may also do a
copy, paste in word if you prefer. Either way will help assist you in your updates.
By updating your website consistently , you will begin to build trust with your visitors, and once you have built
trust you are almost guaranteed a sale and repeat sales, since they will see what is happening now in your business
and what is available to them. Your website can go a long way towards making sure that your visitors know you and
trust you
